Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a Master’s level program in counseling, psychology, social work, substance use disorders, marriage and family therapy, human relations or related field of study or enrollment in Bachelors program in the above listed disciplines. Master’s students will have completed a minimum of two semesters of academic course work before the start of the internship.

  • The length of the internship is a minimum of two (2) consecutive semesters for graduate students and a minimum of (1) semester for undergraduate students.

  • A minimum of 10-15 hours per week on site is required.

  • Interns must be available one evening per week to see clients. The agency is currently open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00p.m. Monday through Thursday.

  • Students will attend weekly Intern Group meetings.

  • Students will attend weekly one-hour individual sessions with a site supervisor to review casework which may include the provision of outreach services in the following areas:

    • Assessment/Intake Process

    • Marital Therapy

    • Group Therapy

    • Family Therapy

    • Individual Therapy

    • Crisis Intervention Services
